How to play

See the teams. Name the connection.

Golistry is easy to understand in one round: two teams appear, the clock starts, and the first player to submit a valid footballer wins.

01

The basic rules

A standard match has five playable rounds. Each round lasts up to 60 seconds and ends immediately when the server accepts the first correct answer.

  • Read the two displayed club or senior national-team names
  • Enter one footballer who officially appeared for both
  • Submit before your opponent
  • Score the most points across five rounds

02

What makes an answer valid?

The player must have made an official senior competitive appearance for each team. Youth careers, rumours, unused squad membership, and informal appearances do not qualify. Common spelling variants can resolve to one canonical player.

03

Scoring and fair play

A correct answer earns 100 points, with a 25-point bonus for the first global discovery where applicable. An incorrect answer costs 10 points, scores never fall below zero, and repeated mistakes trigger a short cooldown.

04

Choose your mode

Quick Match pairs two players for a casual game. Private Competition supports two to four participants and optional labelled bots. Ranked play is reserved for registered human players and never includes bots.
